KidSport provides grants to children from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs. The Sea Queens proudly partners with KidSport. Please refer to our links and select KidSport Okotoks and MD Foothills for more information. AquaSquirtsOur club offers a combined AquaSquirts/Intro to Synchro program. It incorporates concepts from AquaSquirts which is a play based water orientation program designed by Synchro Canada where swimmers are encouraged to have fun in the water while experimenting with new ways to swim that will develop body awareness, improve breath control, increase comfort level, and encourage creativity. It also introduces simple synchro skills and incorporates them into a short synchro routine that swimmers will perform in our club water show. It is best suited to swimmers between the ages of 6-10 who are curious about the sport of synchronized swimming.

This program is designed for swimmers who have no previous synchro experience or who want to swim without competing in meets. Swimmers work on the Synchro Canada Star Award program which offers progressive, step-by-step instruction and evaluation suitable for a variety of ages and abilities. This developmental skills program offers instruction starting with basic skills and moving to more advanced techniques as swimmers progress through the levels. Swimmers will learn all of the fundamental sculls, basic figures and their parts, and be introduced to a sequence and routine component in the early levels (Stars 1-10). They will then move on to the most challenging figures and routine skill sets in the Superstar 1-7 levels. The skills learned in the Star program are designed to allow for a smooth transition to competitive swimming if desired. Swimmers will also be placed on teams where they will develop a routine that they perform at the club water shows. In addition, our Recreation swimmers train with a Swim Coach as part of their development on Monday evenings. You might have trouble keeping up with your child in the water after a few months! Swimmers should be comfortable in deep water, able to swim 50 meters (2 lengths) and tread water for at least 1 minute. There is no age restriction. Mon/Wed Recreation
